Founder Absence Planner
What would someone else need to know if you could not work tomorrow?
Fill in what you know now — it does not need to be complete. Everything is calculated and stored only in your browser, and you can download the finished plan as a PDF to keep somewhere safe.

Hayley Duster — writer and solo business owner
Someone who could be contacted on your behalf and knows roughly what your business does.
Name and contact details, plus where their engagement letter or last set of accounts is kept.
The clients who would notice within a week, and anything with a hard date attached.
What has been sent, what is outstanding, and how someone else could issue an invoice if needed.
Not the passwords themselves — where a trusted person could find them, e.g. a password manager and who holds the master.
Subscriptions, payroll, rent, loan repayments — anything that keeps happening whether or not you are working.
Work that could simply wait without serious consequence.
Anything with a legal, contractual or safety consequence if it stops.
Assumptions behind these numbers
- This plan only reflects what you enter — it is a starting structure, not a complete continuity plan.
- Never write actual passwords into this tool or the exported PDF; record where access is managed instead.
- Review and update the plan whenever your main client, accountant, bank or key supplier changes.
Where to keep it
Store the exported PDF somewhere a trusted person could find it without needing your devices unlocked — for example with your emergency contact, your accountant, or in a secure shared folder they already have access to.
